The Enota za specialno delovanje (ESD, "Unit for Special Operations") is the special-operations unit of the Slovenian Armed Forces. Formed in 2007 from earlier special units, it is trained for direct action, special reconnaissance, counter-terrorism, and military assistance.
Its operators pass one of the most demanding selection courses in the Slovenian military and regularly train with allied NATO special-operations forces, including combined free-fall and combat-diving exercises such as Eagle Sokol.
